Yoshi's Nest

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy Yoshi's gift of six of his eggs, get e'm before they hatch or before Yoshi decides to use them as projectile weapons that explode into fireworks again

For the uneducated, Yoshi is Mario's on-off again cuddly pet dinosaur who has made appearances in several of the games providing an array of new versatile tricks to make life for Mario a bit easier. Yoshi's have been seen in almost every main colour imaginable, but the six recurring colours that have been seen in more than just one game are green, red, yellow, dark blue, light blue and pink. Obviously the colour of the egg determines the colour of the Yoshi

Secretly I've been wanting to represent Yoshi's famous brightly-coloured spotted dino-eggs in realistic 3D for a long time, and I decided to start on this days ago when I realised Easter was coming up. Just as well I didn't wait longer since it took 7 hours to render (which I had too do twice since I wasn't sure if I wanted depth-of-field or not) and perhaps little over twice as long to make The Eggs, nest and flowers were modelled in Cinema 4D, then Imported to Vue 7 where all the lighting and texturing was done, as well as adding the vegetation around the nest, I even made the egg's spotted textures procedurally without texture-maps too Some very minor postwork in Photoshop but mostly outright 3D
