Normally I don't mind doing "cheap jobs" since I rarely get any commissions at all anyway. If I was getting a lot then I would have to work out priorities and discard the cheap offers so I can dedicate my time to the better paying ones. (though sometimes I fake having a lot of other commissions to do too, even though I really don't :shh:)

I should be getting paid soon for a couple of peices that tok just over a couple of weeks, and the client still owes me $2000 for that :fingerscrossed: if he dosn't pay up, there will be legal action as the art I did was in posters and magazines advertising a local event :shakefist:

hmmm, if you charged $2000 for a couple of illustrations than maybe you are on the right track! Make sure you get paid!!

Tbh, for people with only just enough money, 10$ an hour is fine, 12-15 for the really good pieces :L

If it were a complicated piece and something I really wanted, Id throw in 100-150 flat for it.

Depends on two things, how much work/detail they're asking for, and how easy/amount of time it takes you to do it.........jim

It depends on the work that is requested from you. A logo? A small Banner?, A Website Layout?, A full pic? etc.
Regardless of the amount of work that you do, keep in mind that work for hire does usually include that you transfer the copyright of the work to the person that pays you. You cannot reuse any part of your creation or the whole piece itself for another purpose.

Now think again, how much you should charge.

p.s. never forget about your friends who are as broke as you. Give away for free or little if it feels the right thing to do. People will appreciate it and "pay" it back to you, often with interest. :)

specific amount. its your choice! Plus it depends on how much detail and how long it took, color.. size. every piece of your amazing art work shouldnt all just cost one amount. you get what im saying?

yah, i guess i agree with the poll results, u should probably go with 30 bucks, its a fair price but u could still increase it depending on the artwork u made

don even think of taking anything less than 30 bucks, u make great art and i KNOW everyone will agree

--i actually voted 50--
