Cleaning the Gene Pool makes the most sense to me. People might see this as discriminatory, but as we can only save 1 million people, it seems a bit silly to save deficient and broken genes. Don't forget that we evolved from practically nothing, so whatever we save is gonna be better than what we started with. 'Losing potential' by not saving a varied selection of everyone really doesn't come into the equation.
That's what I thought too. There was a lot against it but in the harsh reality of the situation, people have to make these difficult and harsh decisions. Makes sense to me
Yeah.. I wonder if the 'officials of the world' have made these decisions already? In case this situation does arise? That's a bit of a worrying thought O_o
This is a hard one, well, I kind of figured it out by thinking like this:
"Health - Clean the gene pool by only choosing people with no mental or physical disease or disability." - Yes that is true to have a clean gene pool and this would help for the Human population to breed again with little problems. I think this would the best idea. But of course with all the options some people would want to do crime. But then if they were born into a new world I don't think they would know what it is, it would be more about survival then anything else.
Interesting opinions, especially on crime Really, what makes a crime is more determined by laws than actions. Something that's considered criminal in one country wouldn't be in another, this kind of double-standard makes dealing with many issues hard. For instance, in some countries it's a "crime" to be gay, and gays usually get killed if caught out doing stuff that's treated very casually in other countries...People in those casual countries want to help stop that unnecessary slaughter, but so long as the laws of the other country allow it - it's a sad fact people just have to deal with until maybe one day it might change heck, some countries don't even allow hetero acts of affection in public
Crazy rules have been invented by man over time, some are understandable. I can see why murder, rape and theft are considered crimes. But in this brave new world everyone would have to abide by the same rules and those who disagree won't get picked Maybe murder could be passable if it's in self defense. It's wrong how now if someone threatens to kill you, and you kill them first to save your life, YOU are considered "the murderer" Theft is an old one too, animals take what they can find (especially food) to live. We are more organized than that, but a poor man needs to eat too, so although we shouldn't make exceptions for some - it's still understandable why some need to steal essentials like food and that can be hard to call a "crime", just an act of survival
Thats very true, there is one country which I cannot remenber the name of, but if you hack you can lose your hand. O_O Also I think it's Dubai that doesn't allow Hetero acts of affection in public. I once saw in the UK news about couple being in trouble becuase of it.
Yeah, there are a few videos around You Tube which this user uploaded making fun of some really weird rules where in lives in the UK. Like in one state it's illegal to have hippos on a roof. O-O The most common sense and basic rules are based of the bible like the ten Commandments. over here in the UK they Police say you can use equal force in self defense. What if they are running you down with a gun or knife?
Yeah I agree with that, becuase if someone really needs to eat then why not just steal an Apple off a market store. Becuase what if he didn't? he could die. Well, thats in an extreme case. Some people are known to live up to 20 days without food.
Craftsmen and bow hunters with healthy genes would be first on the list, then doctors. After that, we need writers, traditional artists, and intelligentsia to restart culture. Spouses should only be allowed to come if they also possess a worthy talent. Any children over 8 years old should be brought. If anyone doesn't want to go, they don't have to, but they can't choose someone to go in their place. I would have to say that world leaders and celebrities be forbidden to go, because they only got to fame through people skills and luck, neither of which will be helpful in a post-apocalyptic world.
