The greatest gifts of all

Another long journal...Do you dare read?

This current Christmas has been one of my best, Though I was given lot’s of great things, three in particular have made me very happy, so I will start gloating now if you don’t mind.

:iconjunkbyjen: chose the most appropriate time to feature The wishing tree as a Daily Deviation on Christmas day. Though it didn’t do nearly as well as High rise, the fact that my art was DD material even over a year ago means a lot to me. It brings me to the question if there is a Daily Deviation limit, as I have never seen more than 3 in the same gallery. If that is true, then I may only have one left…kinda scary, but I won’t worry about that now. Thanks to all who commented and faved that and the others too!

Even better than that, my best friend of 14 years, who moved to another state a couple of years ago decided that his present for me was to buy me plane tickets to go and spend time with him. We hardly see each other anymore, and it is often he who visits me instead of the other way around…My town is crappy, dried-up and boring, at least we can have more fun on his home-ground, The Gold Coast…the kickass seaside city where it’s all at.

A stroke of luck also happened. While visiting relatives I may only see twice a year, I noticed their neighbours had cut down that lovely Frangipani tree I was eying off, but haven’t yet sent it to the dump. Knowing that unlike most trees, the Frangipani will literally grow if a huge branch was put in the ground, I took several pieces for me and my family, so we can all have one of these great trees, without having to wait years for it to grow, or having to spend hundreds of dollars on a pre-grown one.

Well that’s it for a while. Be on the lookout for my next TerraSpace scene around new years. I will also submit my first animated emoticon in a few days too and make more depending on what response I get from it.

Yeah, the Frangipani's aren't made of "proper" wood like most trees, but rather a soft tissue inside that is prone to infection if the bacteria in the soil gets in the open wound. So the wound has to dry and callus before its put in the ground. Yet they still grow on the top half before being planted lol.

I knew there was a lot of oldies in Florida ( I have watched a lot of American TV shows lol ) I wonder how they can put up with their arch nemisis...Teenagers coming in every year for Spring Break. Our Gold Coast has whats called "Schoolies" where at the end of every school year, year 12 graduates do their own Spring Break there...unfortunately, with them comes a lot of drunken violence and sexual harassment. I didn't attend because thats just not me.

Matthew, that is very interesting about the Frangipani - I really enjoy learning things  Infact, I try to learn at least one thing new every day :w00t: I can't wait to see your pics when you get them going.

Yes, it is sad  that some of our TV shows actually make around the world
Spring break at lots of locations does end up the same... but that's true of lots of other things, too... that I was never interested in... at our school the "in crowd" was never something I wanted to be part of, either. I've gathered from just our short conversations, so far, that you've got a little more going in your brain than that *grins and tries to figure out how to communicate that she is proud of you, without making you feel embarrassed*

:phew: I was worried because if I get another one, that means I couldn't possibly get a fourth...no matter how good my art will be in years time.

Maybe once someone has three, if they DO get another, it could be longer between the third and fourth ( like 9 months or a year )
