Well as the keen would have picked up from the title, today marks my second full year of being on this site. Man, I have come a long way, not just artistically, but in lots of other things too, this journal is a rather humerous, but true comparison of who I was back then to now...
Two years ago: It was a Sunny afternoon, Having known about DA for about a month, I decided to join. Since I was such an internet Noob, who only used the damn thing once a week to look at retarded sites like Funnyjunk and AmishDonkey, I had to get a friend to set up my account for me...ain't that stoopid ! From then on, I thought my art was going to totally rock the community here, which at the time, I thought only consisted of a few thousand members...Oh how wrong I was.
I was intimidated by Fella too, his smooth, shiny and modern-looking design made me feel this site was too advanced and professional for me, especially as I was intending to mainly fill my gallery with anime.
One year ago: Anyone who had been watching me long enough, may remember that the journal commemmorationg my first year was full of dissapointment, I had gained less than 1000 pageviews in a whole year, had an average of around 5 faves per-deviation and around 40 watchers...half of which never commented or faved anything I submitted anyway...I was giving serious consideration into leaving this site altogether since the many hours spent on each deviation felt like a waste of time.
But lucky I hung in there a bit longer, a few months later,
High rise was elected as a Daily Deviation, and brought six times more attention in one day, than I got in the year before!, That was the ( good ) ball and chain that kept me here for good !
Today: I enter my third year, and only now feel like I have fully gotten used to this site, not too long ago, I was blessed with another wave of attention when
The wishing tree became my second DD. I have far more "healthy" gallery stats than I did this time last year and I'm nearing 500 watchers, which is considerably more than 40 lol, I can at least say something thats actually positive for my second year....Who knows what this following DA year will bring for me...and my viewers
