So I'm back...from outer space...

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 3, 2009, 6:31 PM

Well, maybe not from outer space, but it sure felt that way being so far from home and my family for so long, not to mention regular internet access too. A few years ago, before joining dA, I wouldn’t have cared about not having internet as I almost never used it. But like many, it’s something that I can’t live without nowadays.
Though it was nice having an extended break from the usual, it was even nicer coming back! I was getting rather bored at my Dad’s place, he’s a nice guy and a hard worker, but because of that, we weren’t able to do anything 5 days a week. I don’t blame him, but being alone in a small complex all day, 5 days a week without any internet to keep me entertained was powerfully boring, especially since all they ever played on daytime TV was Cricket, Tennis or women’s talk shows, along with poorly-animated children’s programs :bored:
As for visiting my best friend while I was close enough, well I didn’t see him once :| I tried contacting him 6 times in the first week I was there, but he was either working, or attending to his girlfriend’s needs. I guess a 15 year friendship can be so easily discarded when one of them finds a partner :movingon:

So with much less there to offer me than I expected, I rather gladly returned back to Sydney, where my family and other important things to me are, besides, most of the jobs I’m interested in are in Sydney anyway. The other Australian cities aren’t really major enough to have effects studios and such. It was nice sleeping in my big, comfy bed again too :sleepy:

This year, provided no drama or bullshit stops me, I plan on doing many exciting things here. Like perhaps making stocks for people to use. Plus I’m thinking about making a dA calendar for next year, with our Solar System as the theme – inspired by an off-dA project I’m collaborating with others on (but it’s supposed to be secret, so there will be no more discussion on that) :shh:

Also, I have been playing around with Vue 7 in my absence, and I might try selling Vue-content on Cornucopia 3D again too, and maybe occasionally making free Vue resources along with my proposed stocks. Also, I’ll sometimes be updating keen Vue-er’s on any resources that me, or fellow pro-level Vue-user ~nukeation may have ;)

I had my fair share of groundings too at your age :iconsadnod:

Thanks for the recent faves though :)

You're welcome. The thing is, is that I had been doing so well... That was the first time I've been grounded in like a year... :(

Stock?! I'm already excited. Your art itself is pretty inspiring, I can only imagine your stock being equally so. I can't wait to see it. :)

And, toast+pepsi? That's an odd combination. Welcome back though!

Thanks. It could still be a while before I make any stock...as it is, I'm trying to get 3 works done before the end of the month, and the one I submitted today isn't even one of them. But when things clear up I should be able to make some resources...they would only be occasional though, since I don't want to attract too many watchers who are in it just for the stock. I have a lot of potential and original stock ideas, but unfortunately, like many other things I have planned, they'll have to wait ;p

OMG darling if you are ever tempted to make stocks of a huge dirty multi layer underground sewer and catacomb system, please let me know. I'm writing my 8th and 9th book all in the catacombs of France and I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to pull it off since I use mostly photography in my backgrounds... aside from going to France and breaking a few laws (like prying up a manhole cover and hoping for the best, yuck!), which I have no money for.... and getting caught taking pictures in weird places now adays is not a good idea.... I don't think they'd buy that I just need it for my comic....

Lol, Nah, I never do much man-made environments...I just get bored of them too fast, so I doubt I'd make any stocks like that since I don't even do it for my proper works :p

well, if I ever get shameless amounts of money to throw at you I will try to convince you perhaps to help me out?...obviously I'm poor right now so don't get your hopes up, but man.... actually, there would be one picture I would kill to work with you on. It's kinda different though, not all man made. it would be of this room with all this equipment in it, see, in the story the room is designed to pump all of my characters blood out of him so that another could get the power that he has.... but his blood turns green, to poison, and spills on the floor, and from that a great tree grows up with vines that wend through the whole thing and take over the catacomb, breaking through the roof. so the image would be both dark and bright and have elements of that man made hardness but the tree would be corrupting it.... I can see it so sharply in my head :).

Sounds like an interetsing concept...well if the story seems like it's going far and you need illustrations, you could always commission me then ;)

I may just for my own satisfaction. I like the integrity of your work...
