Hi, sorry for pestering everyone with (what is it now?...FOUR Journals in one week? lol, thats not like me) Anyway, I'm gonna pull a Jerry Springer here and give my "Final thought" on some things relating to my previous journals (which will be removed later since I only keep the more "important" ones) and if you last long enough, well I'll try to put some positive stuff at the end.

Collections: the idea of collections was one of DA's better ones I think, or at least it's original intentions were. But to me now, I'm already over the whole "collection" thing. Not only did my own plan to make my own collections both work, AND backfire on me at the same time. But the other "popular" collections left me in an even more disgruntled mood. It seems most of the popular collections were filthy and blatant PORN, no, not "artistic nude" but just pussy and ass shots. I know this because the titles of the collections were given names just as distasteful as those. "Porn", "Sexy", "Hentai", "Ass shots", "Hot girls", "Pussy"...If I knew my collections would be up against those, which got heaps of faves quickly from this sites filthy porn addicts who have DA running while they flog their log, then I wouldn't have bothered.
And don't get me started on those who made collections entirely of their OWN work to gain more popularity. Those narcissists can lick my balls.
But hey, the "Space and Science Fiction" one still made it to the first page, so it worked in one way...Too bad that during the few days my collections were getting attention, my own gallery was getting half the attention and my faves and comments received have been the lowest ever since 2006.

Features: like collections, the concept of "featuring someones work" is a great one. We all love it when an artist more popular than ourselves features our work, I know I do. But that too can bring out the sour side of someone who just wants to do the general public some good. Before I rant here, let me say that if you WERE featured in one of the other journals (provided you participated in what I asked, those who didn't are in no-mans land right now and I have no problem with), you are safe and don't fall into this category of watchers that I refer to as "seagulls". I gave these few, shallow-minded people that name because, like seagulls at a beach, they come out of nowhere in massive flocks as soon as you hold out a hot chip (or in this case, a feature offer) and pretty much will stoop to the lowest levels just to get the most meagre morsel. I can't tell you how many dozens of people this week have faved heaps of my collections AND art, and then have removed them by the time I visited them, just for attention...I'm not stupid y'know? just too lazy to filter these out from the rest.
I intend on doing features for some special artists in the future, but they will be of my choosing and I won't be offering them at large like before...my friends, DON'T pull this stunt, it will make you lose a SHITLOAD of respect for this site's members. Just ask :iconemmil:...she just had a similar thing happen, when all she wanted to do was a favour for the public, in return for a favour from them to help her out, and it all just had adverse effects.

And now for the positive part you spent all that time skipping through the rest to see lol...I'll be submitting my 100th deviation very soon, I'm excited :excited:

WOW that was a lot, if you made it this far, then you deserve a Coke.
Yeah...I need to change this footer lol, hope Pepsi is OK?

I like owls more than seagulls... :)

People like that make me sick.

I know you were trying to do good, I'm sorry it went so badly at the same time... :(

Lol, Don't think I've seen any owls around here...we do get bats though :batman:

And yeah, this is just one example of how, whenever someone tries to do good, whether it be online or in real life, some always manage to screw it up for the rest :(

:O_o: Wow, people actually do that, with the :+fav: removing?.. That's just pathetic... And yeah, those collections are pretty pathetic too, but if you notice, most of the time they are removed before long, but only to be replaced by a new one :paranoid:

Yeah, many on this site do fave an remove just for attention. And as for the collections, your'e right. I wouldn't be so annoyed if once they were gone, they were gone for good, but a new one always takes it's place...Like weeds, you keep pulling them out, and more just keep coming back :hmm:

Too bad there's no dA moderator for photography, to weed out those explicit photos. dA could get into trouble if any of those are of children. Or at least they could help the authorities track down the people responsible for posting those.

Well, some of the collectors were banned. But that dosn't solve the problem with the actual deviations themselves.

You'd be surprised how common it is to come across sexually suggestive stuff that dosn't even have a mature Content filter on. A few months ago, I clicked "random deviation" a few times out of boredom...came across an uncensored shot of some teenage girl spreading her legs and showing EVERYTHING :disbelief:

Eh, that's the worst you've seen? : D

I've seen horrible, horrible things. The trick is to just stay calm and report them. :)

a recent example of this horrible stuff is some guy who had a gallery of strips where he tortured smurfs in the most brutal, sadistic and explicit ways...
