Good news + New folders

Sun Nov 18, 2007, 1:30 AM
  • Mood: Triumph
  • Listening to: The Simpsons playing in the Backround
  • Reading: "Cannot Find Server" ( as always )
  • Watching: a slew of animated shows
  • Playing: with huge psd files for the packs.
  • Eating: Pringles until my breath smells rancid
  • Drinking: Coke that lost its fizz
For new information, skip to the last paragraph on my new folders.

Before I start, I still havn't done all the crap mentioned in my last journal, but progress is slow and people don't wanna hear that. So I'll move on.

I was thinking "who was the nice soul who bought me a subscription?" until I realised that it came from my Help and FAQ contest entry winning 2nd place :winner: It's the closest to coming first I have been in any competition, so its a big deal to me. Be prepared to see it in circulation around deviantART later on. See the evidence here [link]. Now I got 6 months to come up with a CSS, I am confident in my Photoshop abilities, but may need helpful links to tutorials when it comes to the coding and computer-geek stuff that I'm not good at :dohtwo:

So we all know about deviantART allowing people to arrange deviations into folders, along with choosing which ones are featured. I still left all of mine featured, just so none would miss out on comments/faves if people were too lazy to view "everything". But now there are 5 specified folders in my gallery as follows...
Scenic Tour: features all landscapes and fantasy scenery.
New Worlds: shows all space art and Terraspace scenes.
Fanart Fun is full of both my fanart and original characters.
Wicked Shit contains the strange and surreal creations.
Happy Holidays: has all holiday-themed deviations.

So go check em out, you may even find something you like, but just looked over before. Also, my next deviation won't be promoting those Universe packs I was making because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to sell them as parts contain textures derived from NASA images ( That means the past month of work I did was a total bust ! ) However my next deviation will be a space one with a mysterious dreamlike quality.

Clubs/Groups.

Until my next deviation, see ya !

The one called "Watcha want from me?", though you said it was traced, but I think thats OK to help one learn how to get everything in proportion until they feel comfortable enough to do it without reference...Because I suck at drawing the human form, I have sometimes done similar. My "Vincent Valentine" peice was actually painted over an image of someones figurine, but had extra details added, my own lighting effects and a backround for it too, I think people just call that a "redemption", like what this person did here [link]

Ah... I was planning to delete that portrait....
I've already ripped the original in pieces...

Oh well, you could just move it to scraps if it has favourites and comments, but its up to you.

I looked at tutorials, but it all seems way too hard. I thought it was as easy as simply making a backround in Photoshop and just choosing a text colour and style, but theres more to it that I just don't understand :slow:

*Kroevyn made her own CSS journal... it just shows up a bit funny on my computer... but she's awesome, I'd say ask her for tips... just because I don't have a clue who else might know this stuff... hahah.

I sincerely doubt she's heard it a million times before, Lol. I mean as far as I know that was her first CSS journal thing, too...

Either way, I bet she could help you.
