What I Drew Before dA

Description

A graphic novel of my artistic journey before dA, brought to you in technicolor crayons for your seizure-inducing pleasure :pills:

OK, so this is a very, VERY small sampling of childhood and early-teen artworks here, I literally drew thousands of pictures in that time, and I (and my mother) boxed away several hundred of those, condensed further again into a mere dozen here. I had to make some difficult decisions with which ones to add. But I chose these since they represented various phases I went through in some aspects, and other interests I still have now in others. While I'm not sure exactly of each individual drawing's age, I know for sure that the first one (top-left) is the oldest. I'm guessing I was probably 5 or 6 when I did that. And the bottom-right is the most recent of this chart, drawn up in class when I was 16 or so, about a year before discovering dA (no, that's not the standard of work I held up at the time, but I chose that one since it shows a phase where I liked to do silly crossover comical stuff for a laugh ) All other drawings were made some time in that 10 year space in between, still less than a mere 1% of everything I did in that time.

Some things have changed, but what's more interesting are the things that didn't I reckon. The subjects I draw are almost the same for the most part, because I found everything I could be interested in from an early age. My use of colours was the major aspects about my art. Looking back now I wasn't always the best in class when it came to drawing (there was this other kid who, with a graphite pencil could do some pretty cool stuff) But I stood out for my use of colour. I even saw my primary school teachers a few years ago actually - some said they still have my creatively illustrated workbooks from back then which they like to show to each new class at the start of the year. I'm glad to know even this stuff made an impression, as silly a sit seems now :)

And yes, I was a kid in the 90's, so that means one thing...POKEMON! :la:
