Here it is, the product of nearly three months of work, started early this year and interrupted several times in between (I guess that brings it closer to 2 months - still, it's a long time even by my standards) I sure did miss the thrill of seeing one of these made and uploaded. My three past ones were all hits and I hope you guys enjoy this one just as much :D

:bulletyellow: Scroll up to zoom out.
:bulletgreen: Or use Shift or Control keys to do either.
:bulletblue: click and drag to look around.

It was only a matter of time before I made one based on a tropical beach, which is a recurring theme in my landscape art. There were lots of possibilities of island types and time-settings too (the colours of the vegetation did stand out much more in a bright daytime setting) But I decided on a "cliche" scene, a real classic one just in case I never do another interactive beach scene. All that's missing is the romantic couple walking along the shoreline (unless they're in that hut...Thank God the windows are tinted :evileye:)

:bulletpurple: Others in the "Vue It" series:
Mountain forest in Vue It - Pine Shrine
Winter Wonderland in Vue It - Christmas Village
Avatar-Inspired Vue It - Approaching Pandora
Halloween Special in Vue It - Haunted Harvest

All artwork and animations in my gallery are my copyrighted property and are not to be used without my permission, this includes any screenshots of parts of the scene.

The Festive lights lining the front porch of the little house really give a feeling of vacation, mostly because i grew up with a huge addiction to colorful lights such as these ._.

amazing art and animation. i know a bit about flash, but not as much as i should. i wonder if you did the whole programming in flash, too? or do you use an external software for the navigation-animation?
i´m searching for an easy way to achieve this navigation-effect for pictures/3d-objects because it´s so difficult in flash and i heard about a special software which can "convert" pictures to this navigation based scenes. or is "vue it" such a software?
forgive my curiosity, i´m an excited rookieAshamed

In this case I created the scenery in a program called Vue. But you could use just about any 3D software you're capable of using, provided you render it in just the right way for this kind of conversation to be made later on with the final image. That conversion is done in a program called Pano2VR which has a trial version but even the full product is relatively cheap. Though there are other programs that can do similar things, often with photo's (you may have seen one of these done before with photographs of real places). Ironically no Flash skills aren't necessary, you don't need to use Flash to make one of these, but I save it in Flash format anyway since that's easier for people on the internet to use.

I'm afraid not. These are formatted to only good good in this 3D view, a flat or poster-shaped image of it would look very distorted and weird in some areas :O Your best option is to choose something similar from my gallery that's available as a print ^^;

First thing I did was look straight up in this.....phenomenal piece of yours. I've NEVER been able to get dizzy from someone's work before. It was so real that...it's unbelievable. I cant applaud you enough. All that hard work you did was definitely worth it.  Thank you so much for being kind enough to share this with all of us. Bravo!! :D :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Glad you liked it. These require a tremendous amount of work which is why I can really only be motivated to produce one a year at best. Like all good things, that's about as often as they happen. Better start thinking of one for this year now :plotting:

So far I haven't seen any Quicktime movies on dA yet, or none worth remembering anyway. Though they might allow it now in the "film" category, though I think one needs to get permission before posting anything there (so people don't turn this site into a Youtube of stolen clips :giggle:)

A tutorial for one of these would have to be phenomenally in-depth in order for people to go anywhere with what they learned, since I'd have to explain the very specific settings of all softwares involved as it's kind of a software team-effort to get one of these to actually work :phew:

I love the touch of the message in the bottle. The beach ball also is done really well.
Everything is just so mesmerizing.

Onto the next "Vue It." xD

Even I see things in the clouds sometimes that I had no intention on making in there, I suppose the randomness of cloud shapes does allow imaginative people to see stuff in them. In real life I notice dragon-like forms quite a lot actually :XD:

I guess it's probably because clouds are a hosh-posh of fluff, and our minds subconsciously make figures out of that random fluff to make an explanation for it. Derr, I guess that's a little too technical, eh? xP
Yeah, I mainly see dragons and fish... and the occasional, completely random thing~ o3o

Damn man, I rarely see stuff that blows me away nowadays... and this does blow me away. :D I can imagine that a lot ofwork went into this... let alone the rendertime itself. The clouds look amazing! I still have a lot of problems with getting clouds right.  Did you paint or photoshop something or is it all rendered? Clear fav sir.

I agree, the more I learn about the digital art world the harder I am to be impressed by it, it's truly special and rare when I see something that keeps me staring for several minutes. I kinda miss being easily impressed, but that was also when I sucked

The clouds are mostly done in Vue, I had to use several clouds layers to get a nice and natural variation (one thing that often makes Vue scenes look a little fake is that they use one cloud layer most of the time which can look a bit plain and repetitive) I also used metaclouds to get ones to appear where I wanted them too, though they did get some painting over, I'd say they're mostly still a product of Vue, and many hours in the atmosphere editor :phew:

Agree about the cloud layers. I still avoid using Vue clouds unless I really need it. The rendertimes are still a pain. But that's not going to change I guess. :) However... nice work here sir. Really dig the view. :)
