I hope I didn't mess this one up, I actually downloaded images of him as reference to get it as good as I can but all comments and advanced criticism is welcome. I was meaning to draw him for a while but didn't know excactly how to go about it. I was going to make a close up of his face with a blue moon behind but I see that scene too often, So I went for a full body attempt.
It's a bit large in full view but I had to make it that way to get fine details in, but I could drop it down a bit only if necessary. You can find a wallpaper version here [link]

Vincent Valentine is a Copyright character of Square-Enix. But this deviation is my artwork and labour, so don't even think about ripping
It's very nice, other than a few little quirks.... Let's see... it's got a bit of "smudged" feeling to it in a few places, such as the clawed fingers and the right pant leg. What i would suggest is that you take a much daker version of the colours you used there and outline a few key-points, to make it more crisp and defined.
The top of his head looks a bit too long because of the full hair, but that's not a problem.
Also, the outlines around him are really pixilated, which kinda... give him a "cut-out" appearance. Do you work in photoshop? If you do, grabe the blur tool (it looks like a little tear-drop) and just lightly blur his outlines into the surroundings... it'll give a much more realistic feel to it.
Let's see... hmm.. the lighting seems a bit off, but that's ok, it's not that obvious... also, his shadow. Must be a lot bigger and wider. As a matter of fact, there should be a circle of shadow all around him... crap, I'm really bad at explaining. The ground he's standing on should be more shadowed.
I looove the background however. It's really nicely done. ^^

Good advice. I went and edited different parts that You mentioned aswell as some others.
I gave the pants a slightly sharper difference between the light and dark areas, but not too much because it still needs some softness. I admit His hand looked smudgy and had no noticable joints so I made the joints more obvious and sharper. The outlines were softened aswell.
Shadows were a bit tricky, I gave his whole body more shadow at the front because the main light source is behind him ( the moon ) however there would be street lights in front of him so some light was still needed otherwise he would be too dark. Because of the presence of more lights, extra shadows were casted on the ground and walls.
All these changes took around 3 hours. But I couldn't change it too much otherwise I would just be doing it all again. I'll have to keep these in mind next time.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
