Description

In this Tyrannical game of Tug-o-War, you would actually be better off placing your bets on the little guy winning. For this binary system of two stars contains one neutron star, which is the small, bright core left behind after a larger star like the upper one exploded. Though it is smaller, its gravity is far stronger as it contains more mass, just compressed into a smaller unit, in fact, it is beleived that a spoonful of the material neutron stars are made of, can weigh as much as the whole Earth. Here, its powerful gravity is sucking away the flaming gas of its host star which in turn, helps itself stay illumited for longer as the larger star slowly dwindles away.

Well, thats the story, not sure if all facts are right as this is an uncommon phenonemon, one of which I havn't yet seen any space art of it, so I thought I'd try to depict such an event myself. Took a few days nitpicking at the details, but I guess it looks a bit minimalistic, but thats OK as I didn't want any planets or nebulae to steal the show here ( I feel sorry for any planet that passes through that flaming fire funnel )

All drawn in Photoshop this time, no 3D or photo's/textures used in this one :sun:

This process is not as uncommon as you think, but mostly happens between active star and a white dwarf star. The process is actually behind a type of periodical supernova explosions because it almost always ends with the stolen material explode like a thermonuclear bomb once its weight and temperature reach critical mass. One such pair can produce several explosions within several millennia.
