Starting to get a little cold around my area, I say this with numb fingers and toes but really I justed wanted to do a typical Terraspace scene simply because I love the genre yet see it done not as often as I used to, and artists like me who only do it once in a blue moon are to blame :stupidme: netherless this was done without being too worried about it not being original enough or anything, I just wanted something that looked cool and that's all 8-)

I was too picky with the landscape in terms of composition, trying to get something that looked natural and random and not "set up" but still having at least some nice layout of mountains and lakes, so a few hours were spent just trying to get the right look on that. I deliberately limited my options to try and make the landscape (created in Vue) to look like a classic Terragen one, so no tree's, rocks or other objects on it and no true 3D clouds either (just used Vue's old "volumetric" atmosphere here) Things like the low lying mist and beams of sunlight casting down were postworked in, as were the planets. Enjoy! :)

Yeah, I spent a long time trying to get the lighting in the 3D scene like that :phew: the planet was a lot of work too but came out worthwhile, probably one of my best planets so far :D

I love this, the only thing I would say is that the landscape doesn't blend very well with the water / ice, maybe a reflection or some visible land under the shallower bits of the water would make it work better ;)

I guess the water should have been clearer. Vue needs a "clearness falloff" like what I see in Terragen, where people somehow make the transition between clear and dark quite sudden (that way only the really shallow bits are clear) in Vue the transition is a bit more gentle, to make the coastline areas clear, some of the deeper areas would have been too :(

I guess dark water has a more "cold" feeling, if this were a tropical scene it would have been too clear :XD:
