Made for the #Attrius art-pack given the theme "Alive", and I have given my work here an appropriate story to go with that as seen in the next paragraph. First, this was an entry to a contest they held, the prize of which was the position in their exculsive group for talented Terraspace (landscape with space) artists! and I was one of two winners
A tall column of eroded sandstone is seen holding up a small platform of rock that is supporting some plants found growing on this planet. This pillar and Canyon looks like the kind that would have taken millions of years to form, but was actually created almost instantly in a terrible disaster. When a comet made its impact on this world, the waves from the ocean came several hundred kilometres inland and carved dramatic canyons out of the once flat, forested areas...This pillar of hard rock shows just how high the plateau of land was all over beforehand, it managed to stand throughout the event, saving the plants on top, one would expect that vegetation would start growing again in this area, but all the saltwater from the sea has rendered it deadly to plant life, so the only good growing soil is left up top...these lucky few managed to stay...ALIVE!
The far-back canyons was a base image seen here [link] It was contest rules to turn that into something more interesting. Please note that only the contestants were allowed to use that pic. The rest is all mine, the closer Canyons are made in Vue 6, as is the rock pillar and trees, and even that cratered texture on the closest Moon (you can do cool stuff with terrains ) But as usual, there was manipulation in Photoshop!
I know it's not my best, but I had a deadline Besides, I havn't made a Terraspace scene in ages.

I remember ages ago I thought about doing something relating to the hanging gardens of Babylon...but never knew enough about or or even what it looked like enough to try (guess I didn't search ) too bad something like that dosn't still exist.
Oh yes, I've seen some amazing artists that use the mouse but I'll admit they're rare and will also say life has been made so much easier since I got my tablet a year ago
Funny you should make that comment, this was my last image I made before getting my tablet though I still use the mouse for 3D and the tablet for Digtal painting, this was mostly 3D anyway
Just a suggestion, Have a similar sky to the one you have here, as in moon sun and planets, and have the hanging gardens of Babylon as the earth?
You couldn't have done this with a mouse
Funny you should make that comment, this was my last image I made before getting my tablet
>> Jealous. I want a tablet but I can't afford a decent one D:
Talk about New Zealand being a crappy supplier for artists!
