The Snorlax by priteeboy The Snorlax by priteeboy
It's a play on words! :dummy:

Anyway, a while ago I went and saw The Lorax in Cinema's. Yep, I was probably the only person there over the age of 18 who wasn't accompanied by a kid, but I enjoy animated movies nonetheless so it was a pleasure to go see it, and when I left I just felt like I had to draw something relating to it :plotting:

The name reminded me of Snorlax from Pokemon and I kept envisioning this funny crossover. So I went ahead and drew it. It's a bit different to my normal pattern but it was fun doing something "cartoony" and being able to use lots of bright colours. Though I don't think these cute little forest critters would agree with their ever-hungry surprise visitor :hungry:

The Lorax and Pokemon characters remain the property of their creators. This artwork was illustrated by me. Please do not use, modify or sell my work without my permission

ohh, I just wanna jump into this world, haha. (I also love animated flicks, and I'm usually the only one there as well who is over 18, haha.) Although I do have these two friends who are 71 and 88, who also love animated films. And sci-fi, fantasy, action-adventure, pretty much the same stuff I like. When we go to films together, we get odd looks. There they are, with their feet propped up on the seat in front of them (as long as there is no one in the row in front of them) and eating popcorn and candy and drinking their soft drinks. If I put *my* feet up like that, I'd get a scolding from the ushers. But not them, oh nooooooo. I can't wait until I'm 70 and can do stuff like that with impunity, haha. Okay, they are polite, and the 88 year old is very, very tiny, and they both look like if you yelled loudly they'd fall over. But they do love cinema. And life in general. Which explains a lot.

thanks for this one, it made me smile when I first saw it!

It's interesting to hear people of that age being interested in animated movies. Not sure the medium was even around (or should I say - as well-developed and popular as it is today) when they were kids, yet they have managed to stick with the times and get used to the slowly changing face of animated movies (unlike others who say any animated movie that wasn't a Disney film made before 1995 is shit...talk about being close-minded :disbelief:)

Old people do get away with a lot. Not sure if it's really respect for the elders or if it's just the fact that old people have a reputation of causing a big scene if you call them out on something they did. My nan's like that - she won't stand for any level of critique, especially her horrible driving  I think everyone else just knows it's not worth getting on an old person's nerves, so we all just deal with their shit  But at least they're polite. I've encountered some incredibly rude old people who really do believe the world needs to cater for them just because they've been here longer :iconshakecaneplz:

yeah, I wanna be like then when I grow up (if I ever do). I think it's because they are just plain intereted in the world around them and the people they come across. So they are full of life and questions and adventure. The 88 year old is full of interesting stories (like going to Louis Armstrong concerts).

Yeah, some people think they're entitled, and it does get on my nerves whatever age they are.

I think crabbit old people were crabbit when they were young/middle-age people. Some people just are born crabbit, haha.

yeah, I wanna be like them when I grow up, haha.(if I ever do grow up. Sometimes I wonder if I ever will). I think they're both just the kind of person who is interested in the world around them and interested in the people they come across. The 88-year old person came to visit me whilst I was doing post grad studies in the U.K., and she stayed up every day (night?) until 4am, talking with students and having fun. She always listened to the person, and no matter what they were reading (or studying, in U.S.-speak), she was able to ask interesting questions. And she somehow ends up the life of the party, because she gets other people to open up and talk. In the beginning fellow students came to my flat 'cuz they were polite to my 'visiting family' and then they started busting the door down to visit her 'cuz she's so interesting.

I do think that most crabbit old people started out as crabbit young (or middle-aged) people. Some folk just think everyone owes them respect/catering to. And some people are just born crabbit, haha.
