Paradise valley by priteeboy Paradise valley by priteeboy
This is one of three scenes I have decided to use as advertisement for when I try to sell my "Paradise Plants" on Cornucopia 3D, and if you think no-one wants to spend actual money on virtual plants, well think of all the Vue users that need more than just the provided plants, but don't have the Photoshop skills and the rest to make their own. And being a far smaller community than DA, plus the fact that its only limited to Vue users, means I will get more money out of there than I would on DA.

More info on the plants themselves will come along when I know for sure they made it into store, and I will submit a promotional artwork here. But this scene for now can just be appreciated as another landscape of mine. I won't submit all three as this is my top fave of them, and I don't like submitting too much similar-themed deviations at once.

Awesome work! I really like how you added a variant of the lift illusion called the fingers of God.

The only thing I wish you would add is floating islands/mountains.

I never knew they were called that :O

I didn't add floating islands in this one since I was trying to go for a result that looked more like a real place =p

I'm glad because this turned out really nice. There's something special about the sunlight when it bursts through dark clouds. Makes everything seem more alive. Maybe because of the dark backdrop.

It's always a nice experience, especially here we it can not-rain for weeks on end, or even a month or two sometimes.

This is an antidote for loneliness, to run or walk through the valley and to look what surrounds you. The Heart is a lonely hunter, yet many of us spend our entire lives doing such and therefore passing by the beauty that surrounds. The heart knows what its wants, but to achieve can come at great loss--walk slowly, the flowers bloom for you.....

It's like the saying "It's the journey, not the arrival that matters". I think sometimes we get so focused on the things we're aiming for that we miss all of the interesting stuff that happens on the way to getting there :iconseriousnod:

That would be cool, the resolution on my work wouldn't be anough for that though, my computer wouldn't be able to let me draw on a scale big enough to use for that. But believe me - if I had the money for it I'd love one of my pieces printed on the wall too :la:

Thanks for all the faves too :omg:

Meh, I love myself some hiking! Doesn't matter where, just as long as it doesn't involve real dinosaurs. I'd rather not LIVE through Dino Crisis!

I really love your lush and colourful ecosystems :D really nice work man :D

I would say the area that lets it down is around the water, it seems a little... strange :S I think personally I'd like to see through the water and would prefer it to be a bit bluer and speckley :D

Thanks, I actually though that small area of beach near the water came out good, wish I still had the scene file so I can see what I did :XD: the water I made murky and opaque sinc ethis was one of those rare cases where I went for a muddy or algae-filled river look rather than a pristine beach look (think of this area as being not too far from the coast but still near a freshwater river :fish:)

I've actually been making a whole bunch of plants myself recently since I just got a WACOM tablet, making it so much easier. I've turned into the nocturnal horticultarist, going out in the middle of the night with some scissors and my laptop bag and clipping leaves and flowers and anything intersting I can find. I hope no one sees me. I must seem deranged....

Lol, well being a gardener myself, I have snuck a few cuttings from neighbourhood trees before *looks around :paranoid:* so you aren't the only one. Making Vue plants is pretty easy, just gotta compose the leaf materials in Photoshop. Sometimes i buy plants from Cornucopia3D, but only "original" ones which have more individual subsets, allowing more flexibility for when making my own

Here here regarding subsets! Besides the alder and the scots pine, can you suggest any others that are worth buying?

I'm intending on getting the Alder soon, it shows great potential. Plants i have got so far is "Gnarly tree D" [link] which has four seperate trunk subsets, allowing you to give each a different size or droopyness, great if you want to make a multi-level tree. The Banana [link] with which can even have its fruits edited...so lets say you want to make some weird alien flower, you could make the banana stem stand erect, and make the bananas long and thin for spiked flowers atop the leaves. I also recently got two new alien plants [link] and [link] which I havn't used yet, but had some fun trying out their different subsets, I'm sure they'll come in handy later on ;)

Wow, I've never been there :( all my tropical scenes are inspired from just posters and calendar photo's, I've only been to the tropics once, at the far north of Australia, but still...it ain't no "carribean" or "Hawaiian" type of feeling.
