Origins of Life

The beginning of one may not be too radically different to the beginning of us all. Comets coming into contact with the early Earth are said to have been likely "seeders" of life, bringing water and possibly organic compounds with them, making the Earth fertile. A system that is repeated time and time again on a much smaller scale for the origins of us all

This is my second of three submissions to the Luminarium's Gaia exhibit theme. And you won't believe how long I've had this concept in mind for, waiting, in fact - knowing there will be a perfect opportunity to make it The concept should plain and simple, making a connection between the conception of a single living being to the popular theory that water and perhaps even "frozen life" cells arrived to the early Earth via comets.

Unlike the previous artwork which was almost all 3D work, this one is all Photoshop work. I thought a more "illustrated" style better suited the theme for this one. Particularly the Earth/Egg which I wanted to look strangely translucent with light passing right through similar to a cell with even a nucleus floating inside (guess that could be like the Earth's core )
