I don't normally paint animals often, but I was really happy with how this turned out. Although I have long loved the brilliant colours of tropical parrots aswell as fish and it goes really well with the tropical theme that dominates My gallery.
Macaws are the largest type of parrot and the fact that they are endangered makes seeing one-even in a zoo a very special sight. However they can only be seen in their natural habit in their native south American rainforests.

This was painted about a year ago, but I thought it was worth displaying because it was above My standards at the time. Any future paintings I submit will be far more recent.

Well you can go and shove the whole lack-of-modesty act where the sun don't shine boy.. This is exquisit... My work was never this good... It was the type of paintings that looked good from far away, but just a train wreck up close lol

I love this, your an amazing artist

Lol, thanks! like I said before, this is one of my better paintings and I rarley eve rmade one better than it. I suppose I could if I tried now (since a lot of what I learned digitally can be applied traditionally) but at the moment I'm still digital, maybe one day I'll try traditional again but only if I get the motivation, since art never looks it's best if it feels forced :painter:

That's cool, the most unusual bird I've ever owned was a Rainbow Lorikeet...pretty bird, but mine wasn't hand-reared and those bites hurt :rage: but I once visited my Grandmother's place (which is a thir dof the way across the country, hence why I've been just once :XD:) and there were a lot of cool birds there, including a white peacock :eyepopping:

Oh wow. Sound like your Grandmother would have put my little three bird aviary to shame x3 Hehe. And I must say I rnvy you for the rainbow.. the birds we have are all exoctic, and If it were up to me.. I'd have all kinds. But the ruddy things are difficult to care for.. especially with multiple under one roof. Not to mention rather noisy.

The three we own are: Hans Macaw, Sever Macaw, and a Harlequin Macaw.
