My entry to the ~galaxyclub's "Heaven and Hell" wallpaper pack, Of which is now seen here [link]
Normally I would have a massive description of the concept involved, especially after doing something that took so long to make, but the concept here is as old as the human race itself and I think the picture tells it all anyway, basically, the never ending struggle between good and evil, with the physical world - and everyone on it being caught in between. Hopefully I made both halfs of equal significance, just in different ways
All done in Photoshop alone, no 3D or fractal used at all this time and drawn with a mouse too. Some cloud-photo's formed the raw "base" for the background, but I manipulated the hell out of e'm since I wanted it to have a bit more of an "illustrated" look...such a theme just looks better when presented that way

Don't mind the heat, it's just the sixth circle of hell. Yeah, we get about 10,000 souls a day, and we're running low on flaming tombs. Damn, it sucks working in hell
Well it's only hot in the south until you reach the equator, which is the warmest part of our world If you keep going south beyond that point it will gradually get colder and colder again until you reach the south pole
Still, in this fictional scenario, Hell would still be a furnace, but Heaven would be an ideal, mild temperature
does "not to be used or distributed in any way or form" include linking to this page? That's sad; I was gonna share this with my friends as being really awesome :<

It's now featured alongside many other awesome deviations in my latest journal! You should go check it out; maybe you'll like some of those, too :3
