I did something special this time. For you see, the actual concept behind this picture is based off a really old drawing I did when I was like...10 maybe I did lots of landscapes even back then...just in brightly-coloured crayon lol. And you will get to see that drawing, along with a progression list on how this was made, and wallpapers with it too later on
The concept itself is a little self-explainitory, along the lines of my "Golden gates of Hell", but the two weren't intended to be part of a series. The struggle between good and evil, happiness and sorrow, life and death, yin and yan...uuuugh - Coke and Pepsi even Of course, I didn't really consider how important original concpets were back when I was 10, this idea was really just a fluke, and I still think the original drawing is above the standards for the typical kid that age anyway, so when you see it, don't laugh at the lopesided mountain You can see the original art, the progression on how this was created, and wallpapers of it at Force of Nature: progression
This here is my first proper attempt at Matte-painting too! since that's a feild I would really love to get into. For those who are unaware, matte painting is a digital landscaping form that uses a mix of digital painting, photo-manipulation, and sometimes 3D all together to try and get a dramatic, yet realistic result. Photo's were kept to a minimum here, most major areas were heavily manipulated from Vue scenes, and those renders were treated as the "photo's" that matte painters use. Anyway, anything important that I havn't said here, will be under the progression/wallpapers submission later anyway
Oh, and as you can imagine...this took an insane amount of time to do, probably the most time-consuming one so far...I just wanted to make a grand 100th stand...newcomers, be sure to check out the rest of my gallery too! Critiques are still allowed, I probably won't change this, but all ideas will be kept for next time
EDIT: technically it is no longer the 100th in line but like, 80 or so as I have scrapped some older works. But it was 100 at the time of submission, so yeah

I've commented on a few more of your pieces today... Saw yet another I had seen before (banshee bridge planet)... And I am really amazed by your masterful and epic depictions of nature with clouds and powerful forces and lighting and all that. They're just awesome.
This one sums up the main theme of my gallery quite well, and always has - especially since this was based off a draw I did over a decade ago
I agree. It sums it up pretty well. Always nice to return to an old work with new ideas!
