Five Golden Rings by priteeboy Five Golden Rings by priteeboy
My last-minute rush for Christmas this year wasn't spent dodging angry crowds at the shopping centre (I'm not that dumb ;)) But getting my annual Christmas artwork done and ready for upload before the holiday was over. Even if it meant staying up late enough on Christmas Eve to hear sleigh bells from those drunken partiers down the road :paranoid:

Anyway, I think the reference to Christmas is more in the title than the artwork itself. But you can see where I'm coming from. Plus It was fun doing something gold and glittery, unique among the mostly "blue" Christmas submissions I've done in the past :)

There's something about how you do these that's incredibly captivating. I keep looking at them and i have no clue how you did these or what program you used to make them; makes it a big mystery to me i guess! What program do you use for these; i really want to know! Just giving my appreciation!

This one was done in Photoshop, as are most others. Sometimes I do use some 3D software though, but that wasn't needed here :)
this is absolutely beautiful. :D

Whoa.... :cloud9:  It's like I died, and went to space-heaven. :iconspaaaceplz: Yay for beautiful, illustrious, golden rings. And as always, astonishing work. ;D
I love these close up pieces.
im not shure about the night side of the planet, but the rings, the colors, the mood, are amazing!

And yet the night side of the planet was about half of all the work involved :lol:

It was hard trying to get the lights to look brighter than real life, yet still feel somewhat realistic. It was harder still to create the effect of lights diffusing through the thinner clouds but being completely obscured by the thicker ones (if you were wondering what some of those dark areas of nothing were ;)) I was pretty happy with the rest though, considering I had less than a day to make this :D
Yeah I get it :D great job anyway :P
This is incredibly beautiful. I love the colors and attention to detail. I love seeing gold used a lot during the holiday season.

Gold during the holidays works very well :nod: I think I like it more than the typical red/green combo ^^;
