My only peice for The Luminarium's 6th exhibit originally given the theme "illuminate" but was really more of a freestyle thing. I would loved to have made more but was busy during most of that time, and had no idea the closing date would be delayed by a few weeks either but it's up now, view this and a collection of other richly diverse artworks over there under the "exhibits" button. I sought inspiration from my favourite game - Super Smash Bros Brawl for this idea, anyone who has played it would surely be familiar with the ever-changing space scenery on the "Final Destination" stage and choosing just one of the backgrounds was hard (since that golden sea part is cool too ) But I figured this one would look best if illustrated and frozen in time as a dramatic still work
I started with two basic Vue scenes, rendered above a dense layer of clouds. But realistic as they were - they were rather boring so a lot of Digital painting was involved and I don't think there's much un-painted render left but it certainly looked better indeed

So is was inspired by the Final Destination? They are very pretty backgrounds, and you've done well with the one you chose. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to choose which background to work with, but you've done an awesome job with this one.
It was hard to choose, the "golden sea" scene was close on my mind. But I thought the clouds had a more surreal and heavenly look to them
Funny how now that the game has had some time to age I don't find the graphics all that amazing anymore. If they make another, I sure how(which I also thought looked amazing when I first saw it )
Ah, yes, the Golden Sea scene. It was awesome, for two reasons - it was pretty, and it looks awesome with all the fighters there as well. Did you know, if you play it on the Wii U, it will become a bit pixelated?
I haven't got the Wii U...just yet. I'm waiting for it to start having some games I'm actually interested in. I do wanna play that new Super Mario Bros game but that alone isn't enough to justify buying a whole console (otherwise I would have bought a PS3 just to play Sonic Generations )
