Realism was completely thrown out the door in favour of something that simply looked cool for this one, I made it for a contest where art inspired by a song by Tokio Hotel was the goal (see here [link] hosted by *Egil21), Can't say I'm a big fan of the music so no point fangasming to me over it :XD: but as soon as I noticed one titled "Dark side of the Sun" - well I got a pretty strange but literal image in my head...A black sun, eerily still managing to illumate its surroundings with its feeble glow.

This was all digitally painted, making that the second one in a row done that way I guess. I can't wait to do something with my beloved 3D again but recently most of my ideas have little use for it and plus I feel obligated to excercise my general Digital painting skills again anyway, no textures or stocks used either :no:

Lastly, only hours before submitting this I was informed that a long-time and loyal watcher of mine *ErilisVampyre had passed away. Knowing that she would have loved this as much as all my other works, I dedicate this to her :aww:

Anyway, I hope you all like it :D

Artwork remains my copyrighted property and is not to be used, edited or not by anyone on anything without my permission

Most definitely not what I'm used to seeing you do :dummy: But it doesn't make it any less awesome. I love the rings and smaller details on the planet and within the rest of the picture. This really makes me feel like I am standing there watching this dark star....

Aw... that's heartbreaking... good on ya for the dedication. :huggle:
