Commission: Bonre City by priteeboy Commission: Bonre City by priteeboy
This was commissioned for Priya Kishna who needed a visual way of representing the futuristic city in her story, both at day and night. The city is mix between science fiction and fantasy (hence the floating islands which are part of those world) I decided to put them both as one submission, I have a feeling people will generally prefer the night version but I still personally like the day one more.

No vehicles were requested (thank God) and they are not needed anyway since residents stand on warp-pads which teleport them to where they need to go immediately. I sure would prefer that convenience over a vehicle too ;p There are no streetlights, as odd balls of light tend to appear after sundown and light up the pathways.

Modelling the buildings in 3D took forever, I think I made over a dozen new models just for this. Maybe someday they'll come in use again though :alien:

Dude i'm seeing your arts... i'm appreciating a lot of them! Not only for the quality of the pics, but for the art inside them, the futuristic thing, or the nature and environment of parallel worlds... great!

A gorgeous artwork.  I don't have a favourite between day and night... they've both got a lovely atmosphere in their own way.

Amazing art! Like some others said, too bad there is text. The night time picture is the best because of all the neon colors.

I enjoy your art a lot an I would like to know if you could possibly take a request for my fan fiction/ Future city collection?

Again, this looks awesome!

I don't think anyone could make a city as cool and complex as the Final Fantasy ones...No wonder those games take forever to make :faint:

Thanks for the compliments :D

Well done ! What a wonderful work you did here.
Perhaps, I know why people tend to prefer the night version, as I : because of the shading lights which adds a 'magic' touch.
And purple is cool anyway :D
The buildings I found the most original is the egg-shaped one at the left !

That's true. Cities often light up and show a lot more colour at night  I love purple and wish it was used in lights and signs more often. All the reds, whites and yellows get boring after a while :shakefist:

I forget what my inspiration for that buildings was, But anyway - I like seeing unique-looking buildings in future city scenes. Every city needs at least one odd-looking building to define it :D

By the way, the big island in the background looks like the kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger.

Same here. So many cities start looking kinda old and filthy once you get in them. We need a new, modern city :D

I haven't played Chrono Trigger though so I wouldn't know about the island :XD:

Classes are indeed hard to find unless you live in a major city, and even then they're ridiculously expensive. I wanted to take an advanced course in modelling characters and environments for games and it was going to cost me $40'000 :wtf: Screw that, I managed to get by just fine with the remedial lessons I got taught in 3D and a ton of self developing everywhere else :)

Both of these definitely have their merits. I think I like the dark one for the fact you can see all the wonderful glows the city gives off, but the day one shows you other aspects of the city you just can't see in a night scene. These are really gorgeous, kudos to Romaniya for the concept and for you for having the awesome skills to put it to visuals.

That's very true - any city by day or night reveals different details. The lights and signs etc stand out a lot more at night, but all non-luminous details are more noticeable in the day.

I think I enjoy working with night ones more, but here I prefer the result of the day one :sun:
