This was created for Desktopography 2009 - a collaborative wallpaper project, his year's pack launched only the day before I submitted this, so check it out while it's still fresh [link]
The theme was "Nature" and both a standard screen and widescreen wallpaper of this is available among many other great backgrounds. However this vertical version is what I consider to be the original
It was also an experiment on using Vue's "Godrays" feature, a powerful tool good for simulating bursts of light through dark skies, I couldn't fully grasp how to make good distinctive ones until watching =nukeation
's video tutorial on it. So props to him too
What I wanted to make here is something that has been a reasonably popular category of digital art for a long time now called "Terraspace" - where a 3D landscape (often made in Terragen, but as I showed - Vue works fine too) would then be combined with a celestial sky to make a nice looking scene...But the disappoining fact is the few artists that could do this stuff well have been dead for along time here, Good Terraspace art is hard to find these days on dA, given how the artists were much more productive only a few years ago...So this is mine, making up for the lack of others. No special concept or attempt to be original here. Just carrying the dead weight of former Terraspace artists
Created in Vue 7 and Photoshop, as usual Artwork made and copyrighted by me and is not to be use din any form of digital or printed media without permission. Wallpapers of mine and other's work are for personal screen use only!
