Artist's Comments

This was created for Desktopography 2009 - a collaborative wallpaper project, his year's pack launched only the day before I submitted this, so check it out while it's still fresh [link] The theme was "Nature" and both a standard screen and widescreen wallpaper of this is available among many other great backgrounds. However this vertical version is what I consider to be the original :deviation:

It was also an experiment on using Vue's "Godrays" feature, a powerful tool good for simulating bursts of light through dark skies, I couldn't fully grasp how to make good distinctive ones until watching =nukeation's video tutorial on it. So props to him too :)

What I wanted to make here is something that has been a reasonably popular category of digital art for a long time now called "Terraspace" - where a 3D landscape (often made in Terragen, but as I showed - Vue works fine too) would then be combined with a celestial sky to make a nice looking scene...But the disappoining fact is the few artists that could do this stuff well have been dead for along time here, Good Terraspace art is hard to find these days on dA, given how the artists were much more productive only a few years ago...So this is mine, making up for the lack of others. No special concept or attempt to be original here. Just carrying the dead weight of former Terraspace artists :tombstone:

Created in Vue 7 and Photoshop, as usual =p

Artwork made and copyrighted by me and is not to be use din any form of digital or printed media without permission. Wallpapers of mine and other's work are for personal screen use only!

Oh my gosh. This really took my breath away. It's got such an intensity to it. I wish the sky really looked like that. I think our planet's gravity would be a tad messed up though. XD

And OMG the new Desktopography pack is out?! Congrats on being part of it. I've been such a huge fan of their stuff for a few years now.

Such a pretty light *.*

Damnit,those planets are giant :faint:

I like this single tree,that's beautiful ;D

I wonder how much times you need to make that O.O
And also how much time it need for the render (my english is bad, remember):dead:

I really like the colours in this one! It's pleasant.. *does eye exercises*
Erm the huge planet there looks a little too close to the earth though. Like I feel like basking in that glorious light but at the same time afraid that big thing will crash down on me xDD

Oh man, call me crazy, but I think you just topped yourself sooner than you think. :O

This is absolutely beautiful, I like the subtle drops of rays reflecting off of the lake below, casting a gorgeous sunrise descending from the heavens above. Astounding amount of depth combined with realistic terrain formations--dude, a solid one right up in here.

Keep it up bud, really diggin' this one a lot. :horns: :+fav:'d

Your landscapes very often carry a sense of might and the enormous power, no, let's call it the omnipotent force of nature. The celestial sky contributes to deepening that feeling of greatness, and in some of your works you have found a very fine balance between that and the "tamed" and friendly landscapes of the planets that are abundant with life. And while this is not your most impressive terraspace work, it does show the untamed force of nature at work and the wonders it can create; the brilliant light only makes that impression greater.
So far, my comments on your works have been short, and since I am not a native speaker, in this one you may find some grammatical, spelling or lexical mistakes (for instance, inappropriately used words and such). If you do, please excuse me and correct the phrase or word that has been misused.
