Another Day In Paradise by priteeboy Another Day In Paradise by priteeboy
Nothing like a good o'l tropical + space combo which for me is one of the few things I can work on without getting annoyed by it :D An appeal in both always has me coming back and they're often some of my favourites to make :)

And this one is being the sixth in row is a testament to that I think, time came around again for another one of my yearly birthday submissions, where I create a place for myself just for the hell of it, back to a daytime theme again since the last four years ago :faint: The scenery has improved though, and hopefully I will age as gracefully for a while longer with it =p

I actually did seek some degree of real experience as inspiration for this, not that I've ever been anywhere just like it but close enough. A clear day isn't the most dramatic situation but I love how it shows everything in good detail, really allowing me to show off the colours of the scenery, the day ones usually are more about the scene than the space, but the sky sure felt empty before creating some nearby worlds for it 8-)

The collection continues to grow, here's past versions:
2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010

You definitely know how to draw water; the bottom right of the drawing looks just like a photo.

I want go there so bad!!!! Will you take me? I could see this as a Wall Mural. I could see me living there, you would be there, creating yet more for my soul to take in. Absolutely Beautiful! Spring and Summer are my favorite times. I hate Autumn and Despise Winter. Autumn to me is like a decline in ones body and soul, the end is coming but yet each one strives to make it one more day. Winter to me is death--I have lost many loved ones during that time as well--it is cold and unforgiving. Spring is rebirth and birth and a feeling that goodness will be coming to the body and Soul and replenishing all that Winter had stolen. Summer is to rejoice and live. You really touch my heart with this, you have interpreted my dreams.

I used to have a wall mural on my bedroom wall which I painted back in early 2006...but a few years later I had to move. I often wonder what the new house owners did with it, they had kids I remember, so maybe they made my old room the kids bedroom or play room and left the wall there :XD: Though they are probably early teens by now, and if they don't think it's "cool" anymore it probably got painted over. It was similar to the "Planetary Paradise" piece you commented on yesterday, only without the planets and a slightly different colour scheme. I never did another one after moving since the work (and money) that went into the first put me off from ever doing another one

As a gardener as well as an artist, I live for the Spring and Summer too. More happens in a month of these seasons than in all of Autumn and Winter combined. It doesn't snow where I live, and only sometimes reaches freezing point (where dew on grass and windows turns into a thin layer of sparkling ice overnight that thaws soon after sunrise) And with most trees here being evergreen, Winter doesn't look that dead, but still not as colourful and alive as Spring/Summer do. A good quote I read said "Autumn is like a second Spring, where every leaf is like a flower" - this is true if you have a lot of maple trees in your area though, but in mine the colour-changing tree types are only occasional standouts in Autumn, usually seen in parks and gardens, never occuring naturally in the wild here  Winter gives me an opportunity to wear my beloved jeans and jackets though, so there's some good side to that too :XD:

We get Snow where I am and it can start as early as October and last until May--pretty depressing. It gets cold here, sometimes way down the scale and things break then because of the cold. It stays overcast most of the time. I live inland from Lake Michigan-One of the Five Great Lakes-so we get what is called Lake Effect weather. Localized Blizzards and a lot of snow. We also have Tornado Season here in Spring and because our climate has changed we are now getting them in the Autumn as well. I don't garden here because the season is short. We have about 30 trees here, a couple are Maple, some are Oak and several Spruce trees. The Oak and Maple drop their leaves and I am out raking them from Mid-October until the first week of December. It is no fun when it is cold and sleet is falling and the wind is blowing in your face. I want a warm place!!! As far as clothes goes, it is heavyweight unattractive long coats to keep warm in. I love my Jeans tight but if they get wet you really feel it. I have had Leather pants (tight as well) but I was always afraid of ruining them in the dampness. Summer are sometimes really Hot and very Humid or are somewhat cool. Because this area is what I call "Socially Backwards", I don't go out in just a Speedo, instead just plain old pants and a shirt. People here have a thing against Slender guys and ones that wear very little on Summer days. (Their loss as far as I'm concerned) Its not a great place to live in, but because of family issues, I am needed here so I do what can and try to keep myself in shape.

I suppose an area needs to have a lot of non-climate-related appeal for people to want to move there. I know plenty of people who want to move to areas way colder than where I am. I'm like "why? why would you want to freeze your ass off for half the year after being born and raised in an area that doesn't even snow?" :wtf: But they aren't as concerned about the weather as I am. They want to go to different places for different reasons

I have leather pants, but I've been too afraid to wear them out because of the same socially backwards area issue. I could go to the city where things are more diverse. But I've never really liked city environments. So grey, old and depressing to me. Besides, I don't need a whole community of people to accept how I want to dress, just one special person who won't be embarrassed to be seen with me in it :D
